A mother’s love is many things and often it is represented as soft satin pinks and velvety purples. This Mother’s Day Plascon would like to give you some of our favourite colours that provide the meaning you want to convey towards your day one.
Colours in the red area of the colour spectrum are known as warm colours and include red, orange, and yellow. These warm colours evoke feelings of warmth and comfort. They would truly enhance your gift and the message with it. However, don’t neglect colours on the blue side of the spectrum, known as cold colours, as they can communicate the depth and intensity of your emotions.
Pink captures the compassionate and nurturing side of one’s emotions, try Morning Clay (R7-C2-1) a calm earthy pink to show your tender love for Mom. Purple represents harmony and balance, much like the lilac flower it represents healing. A perfect purple for Mama is Timeless Classic (P4-D1-4) which is mid-lavender hue with a neutral undertone. Green represents the protective nature of mothers, surprise Mommy with a delicate and calming Mint Touch (G4-B2-2). Yellow alludes to Mother’s optimistic outlook towards life and for their children share this feeling with Plascon’s Favourite Hue Golden Syrup (Y2-B1-2).
A meaningful and simple DIY project for mom this year can be a custom potted plant, you will need;
A clean clay pot
Plascon Plaster Primer
Plascon Velvaglo Water-based in Golden Syrup
Sponge roller
Before you start applying any paint make sure that the clay pot is clean and dust free and that your work surface is covered in newspaper to protect against any spills.
Start with applying Plascon Plaster Primer on the outside of the planter. Make sure the lip of the pot is properly primed, as well. Leave the pot to dry in a well-ventilated space for 16 hours.
Now here comes the fun part, get your Plascon Velvaglo Water-based and start with the colour. We’ve used a foam roller to get a smooth finish, but you can use a brush too. You will need to apply two coats of paint.
